A friend of mine suggested that Hillary is hanging on this way because she has her eye to the history books and wants to be recorded as having as many delegates’ votes as possible. This news suggests that is true.
One of my particularly-cynical Clinton-detractor friends is convinced it’s even worse than that. Basically her perspective is that Clinton’s still being in the race is based on 2 facts she knows: 1 - Obama has basically won the democratic nomination, and 2 - McCain is very likely only in this thing for one term if he were to win. This friend is actually convinced that Clinton’s aim is to get McCain elected this time around and have a better shot in the next go around without Obama to compete with. Yikes.
Yeesh. That’s pretty cynical.
I am kind of politically depressed today. I’m just burnt out already. It’s hard to maintain this level of engagement for this long.
