- I join RFN in a call-out to Clinton: drop it, or, at the very least cut the shenanigans. We get that you’ll do anything to win. You don’t have to actually do anything.
- Related: Reverend Wright, I would also like to ask you to pipe down. Silence is golden.
- On the other hand, kudos to the folks involved with this bipartisan ad campaign for the environment. The ads are funny and cute, and I think they send a great message of cooperation.
- I am sitting here at the moment eating my cereal, watching CNN coverage of the verdict on the NYPD shootings from a while back. The officers were found not guilty on all counts. There were something like 50 witnesses against them. One of the officers fired thirty one times, bringing the total number of bullets fired to about 50. The victim was unarmed. This along with exit polling in my home state of Pennsylvania reminds me, lest I forget, that racism in America is alive and well. Yes, yes, I know that two of the officers were black. But I’m telling you that this verdict would not have happened had the victims been white. Actually, I don’t think the shooting would have happened.
- Also depressing, I’ve been thinking about the effects of recent economic changes on the price of rice, and how this is pushing millions of people worldwide into dire circumstances. I feel like I am watching a slow-motion disaster. It’s not as instantly catastrophic as Katrina or the tsunami in Asia, but it’s just as devastating if not more so.
OK, back to work now.
